How to sell your GAP gold back to Public Gold

Steps to sell GAP gold back to Public Gold: minimum 1 gram, keep 1 gram to stay active, and when the money reaches your bank.

Updated 25 Oct 2026

Summary

  • Sell on any business day, in the GAP system or at a branch.
  • Minimum 1 gram.
  • Keep 1 gram so the account stays active.
  • Money arrives within 1 to 2 business days.

Before you start

  • A valid bank account in your profile

Steps

  1. Check Public Gold's buy price. The price Public Gold pays you (PG Buy) is lower than its selling price. Check the official site before selling.
  2. Log in or visit a branch. You can sell on any Public Gold business day through the GAP system or at a branch (GAP terms, clause 3.1).
  3. Enter the grams. Minimum 1 gram (clause 3.2).
  4. Keep 1 gram. A 1 gram minimum balance keeps the account active. Selling everything closes the account (clause 3.3).
  5. Confirm. Think before you confirm. Cancelling after a sell order can incur a charge (clause 3.7).
  6. Wait for the money. Verified before 4.00pm: credited the next business day. After 4.00pm: within the next 2 business days (clause 3.5).

Good to know

If you sell soon after buying, you will most likely get back less than you paid because of the gap between buy and sell prices. If you only need cash for a while, read the Ar-Rahnu guide too.
